Our new Chef de cuisine for No35 Restaurant, Michael Harrison, has launch his inaugural menu. Michael has worked with some of the best Chefs across Melbourne including renowned Jeremy Strode at Langton and idol, Ben Shewry, at both Luxe Restaurant and Attica.
Michael describes his food philosophy as “Simplistic, with an element of surprise whilst maintaining clear identity and harmony of flavours.” Sofitel General Manager, Mr. Clive Scott said, “I’m excited to bring Michael into No35, a proving ground for legendary Chefs like Raymond Capaldi, Gary Mehigan, George Colombaris, Shane Delia, Andy North as well as filling the shoes of our most successful Chef, Martin Horsley.”
“I’ve always known about the restaurant and the high pedigree of chefs that have gone before me,” Michael says. “There’s a sense of history I’m excited to be a part of.”
It’s a big step up for the chef — and not just 35 floors — who’s made his name working in smaller, neighbourhood restaurants, such as ICE in Prahran, and Malvern’s Livingroom/Allium.
Michael’s first menu is now available in No35 which features a mix of his old hits — tuna tartare with shaved foie gras — and new favourites, such as Hiramasa Kingfish crudo, and barbecued beef short ribs with togarashi.
