Chris De Rosa: She Collects The Beautiful Things-Turbulent Nature
5 February 2019 – 6 May 2019, Sofi’s Lounge – Level 1
The collection of exquisite prints: etchings, digital, screen and relief prints by South Australian based artist Chris De Rosa is inspired by the hidden and magical world of the ocean around the artist’s home on the Fleurieu peninsula, South Australia.
The rich and colourful collection of works reflect on the dystopian fictions of a future world covered in water where organisms may become even more rich and strong. They relate to the philosophical idea of the sublime as turbulent nature where pleasure is derived from observing wondrous and strange objects.
