PRODUCTIONS PAR EXCELLENCE HEAD TO AUSTRALIA’S ARTS CAPITAL

The city’s gorgeous, leafy East End Theatre District is at the forefront of a thriving scene where audiences can experience world-class musicals and performances within Melbourne’s historic and iconic theatres. Here are three stunning productions not to miss.

Hamilton
Featuring a score that blends hip-hop, jazz and R&B – Broadway blockbuster, Hamilton is a revolutionary moment in theatre, making a profound impact on culture, politics and education.
Based on Ron Chernow’s acclaimed biography, the Tony, Grammy, Olivier and Pulitzer Prize-winning musical explores the remarkable story of one of America’s founding fathers, Alexander Hamilton. Taking in revolution, scandal, blackmail and a duel at the hands of the US vice-president, this dazzling performance delivers its dramatic highs and lows with gusto.

Harry Potter and the Cursed Child
The most awarded new play in history, Harry Potter and the Cursed Child will soon be experienced as one thrilling theatrical event. Direct from Broadway, the original creative team has boldly re-staged the production and brought it to Melbourne audiences.
From May 2022, the adventures of Harry, Hermione, Ron and a brave new generation will be transformed into a spectacular singular performance – providing even more audiences the opportunity to experience this remarkable production. The magic continues and intensifies at Melbourne’s Princess Theatre.

Peter Pan – The 360° Adventure
An exclusive, immersive production is flying into Melbourne. Peter Pan – The 360° Adventure takes the classic story and combines it with cutting edge digital effects to recreate the settings of Edwardian London and Neverland.
An Australian first, the production will be housed inside the new Impresario Hippodrome at Birrarung Marr. The new theatre provides an intimate, magical experience, with more than 5000 square metres of high resolution digital projections bringing the story of Peter Pan to life alongside a live cast.
Likened to stepping inside a video game or a Pixar animation, this magical production will have you feeling as if you are soaring alongside the cast as they perform aerial stunts. Prepare for take-off!
